IAF Recruitment 2025 – AFCAT Entry for 284 Commissioned Officer Posts
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the selection of 284 officers who have been commissioned via the AFCAT (Air Common Admission Test) 2025. These positions are open to applicants from different branches, including the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical as well as Non-Technical). Selection Process
The process of securing IAF Commissioned Officers through AFCAT 2025 has many phases:
- Written Exam (AFCAT): Covers General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude.
- computerised pilot selection system (CPSS): Applicable to Flying Branch aspirants post-AFCAT.
- AFSB interview Interviews are conducted in two steps
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT)
- Stage II: Psychological Tests, Group Tests, and Personal Interview
- Medical Exam Final phase for the candidates who have been shortlisted.
- The Final Merit List Based on results of AFCAT, AFSB, and medical fitness.

How to Apply
The candidates must submit their applications online on the IAF’s official IAF AFCAT portal by or on the 1st of July, 2025.. The process for applying involves:
- Completely filling in your personal, academic and other information
- Uploading a passport-sized photograph along with your Signature
- Making payment for the fee via an encrypted payment processor
- The completed application form should be printed to use for reference later on
